Grammar · な-adjectives

な-adjectives, the basic form

These behave like nouns. They need です to make a sentence, and take な when they come before a noun.

The mistake to avoid

The な only appears before a noun. At the end of a sentence it is just です.

Examples

この まちは しずかです。
This town is quiet.
かれは しんせつです。
He is kind.
